About Tohuwabohu

Tohuwabohu is a German way of saying hullabaloo, ruckus or even chaos. Tohuwabohu is the name of my solo ventures in the world of electronic music as I come from a rock background. I’ve been in several bands playing guitar or bass such as Dead End (shudder), Irrate, Act React, Afterlife, and my two newest incubations, Dim of the Yard and Mortimernova.

I have always tried to do somewhat experimental stuff and if not that, always have strived to broaden my musical spectrum. So the next logical thing was to venture into computer-based compositions. There’s not really a style that I try to recreate with these songs, I just sit down and start messing around with beats and bass lines and create something that sounds good to me.

My influences reach anywhere from Bjork, Portishead, Dieselboy to Recipher. I have been doing this for about 2 years. A lot of my tracks are still just in the idea process. Presented here are some tracks that are more polished. All of these were done on Reason 1.0 and 2.5 with samples from my record collection and some occasional guitar ran through effects.
